Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel clarifies his stance on Tammy Abraham

According to the club’s official website, Thomas Tuchel clarified what was going on with Tammy Abraham at Chelsea. The striker was again absent as the Blues managed to topple Manchester City to book a place in the FA Cup final.

It has become an all too familiar sight to see the academy graduate on the bench or absent from the squad in recent weeks. The last game was no different as Tammy could not even find himself in the matchday squad. In fact, some of the players were surprised about his exclusion.

With games hard to come by for the striker, it has been no surprise to see him being linked with an exit from the club. Premier League sides have expressed interest in the player and Tammy has refused to extend his contract with the club that ends in 2023.

Thomas Tuchel finally spoke out on the issue claiming that everyone is concerned with Tammy not being in the squad and that this is a decision that Tuchel is taking with unhappiness.

‘Tammy has had this decision now a few times against him which is never personal but this is life at Chelsea sometimes as a player. I hope that he does not get lost in too many thoughts because he knows not to be too concerned about his situation.

Everything he can do is stay focused and stay with belief because the situation for a striker can change in minutes. We have an important training coming up and my decisions [for tomorrow] are not made yet.’

There is obviously no shortage of suitors for the English striker as Leicester City and West Ham have shown interest. Both clubs are looking to add a forward to their ranks. Tammy will soon enter his prime years as a striker and he will have to decide what’s best for him, be it at Chelsea or away.
