Thomas Tuchel hints at Tino Anjorin playing against Sheffield United

According to Football.london, Thomas Tuchel gave some hints that Chelsea starlet Tino Anjorin could play some part in the Sheffield United game. Speaking to the media ahead of the FA Cup quarter-final against the Blades, Tuchel talked about various things regarding Chelsea.

One of the more interesting points was about academy graduate Tino Anjorin. The U-23s player has been knocking on the doors of first-team football for a while now. He has already played for the senior side five times, four of which came this season.

However, only once he has appeared under Thomas Tuchel in an FA Cup game against Barnsley, playing just 21 minutes. Despite not appearing much for the first-team much, Anjorin was not allowed to leave on loan in January as Tuchel felt he could be of use at the club.

While he was on the bench during the Everton game, he has hardly been used by Tuchel. Nonetheless, he could be set for an appearance when Chelsea take on Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter-final.

“He had some minutes against Barnsley in the FA Cup game and we try to involve him in the group against Sheffield because he trains very well. We decided to keep him [in January] to get to know him better. Not to send him on loan or find another solution for him in winter.

“I am happy about that. I feel him very strong in finishing in training. He is a very nice character. A nice guy from the academy, another nice guy, very humble and at the same time totally focused, totally clear when you talk to him. Very self-aware.”

Frank Lampard hailed Faustino Anjorin on his European debut against Krasnodar.

It will be another rare opportunity for the youngster to show what he can bring to the table. However, for now, the road to the first-teams looks a bit blocked in the sense that the club already have star players playing in his position.
