According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan are preparing a bid for Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso.
The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order following the signing of Ben Chilwell this summer.
He did his position no favour following a disastrous performance in the first half against West Bromwich Albion last week. The Blues conceded three times to go into the half 3-0 down.
The 29-year-old was substituted at half-time during the match. Chilwell made his first start for the club midweek and could be set for his Premier League debut for Chelsea against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
While we were able to salvage a draw against West Brom, Frank Lampard blamed Alonso for the capitulation at the Hawthorns.
While the current Blues boss appears to have lost his cool regarding Alonso, a former boss could prove to be his salvation.
Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to reunite with the Spaniard at the San Siro. According to the report, Inter are preparing a loan bid with an obligation to buy for around £10.9m.
Alonso was a regular under both Conte and Maurizio Sarri. The same cannot be said for Lampard.
It remains to be seen if he will stay on at the club this summer or move on in the days to come.
If the deal comes to pass, Alonso will join Ross Barkley in leaving the club on loan. The Englishman completed a temporary switch to Aston Villa earlier this week.
