According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea star Christian Pulisic has been nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Year Award.
The 21-year-old has struggled with injuries in what has been an excellent opening season at the club. He has scored nine goals and six assists in just 25 appearances in the league for Chelsea. (h/t Transfermarkt)
The American international played a key role especially after the restart in the Blues’ bid for a top-four finish.
It is a testament to his quality that the club has managed to do well despite the loss of talismanic attacker Eden Hazard.
Pulisic has, at times, single-handedly driven the Chelsea attack forward. A pacy player with incredible close control, he is a nightmare for defenders to go up against.
Given the promise he has shown, it will be interesting to see how he develops in the coming years. The Blues faithful have found themselves a new hero.
Chelsea teammate Mason Mount has also earned himself a nomination. Others in contention are Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish, Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson and United trio Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, and Marcus Rashford.
