Chelsea Transfer News: Arsenal Readying Surprise Swoop For Blues Midfield Ace

The transfer window is less than a month away and rumours are gyrating around Stamford Bridge already. Cesc Fabregas was previously linked with various clubs as he has hardly featured in Antonio Conte’s blueprint this term. And the latest club linked with the Spaniard is his previous home, Arsenal. (Reports via Daily Express)

The 29-year-old spent 8 years at the north London club, made most of his name under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger and sealed an FA Cup trophy in the year 2015 Tempted for more trophies, he forced a move to Barcelona and after a couple of seasons, Chelsea offered him an entrance ticket back to the Premier League.

Despite spending most of the time on the bench this season, there is no denying that Fabregas is a world beater in terms of immaculate passing vision that could unlock even the sternest backline. He did start last time out against Manchester City after Nemanja Matic picked up a slight knock before the match. The Spanish international repaid his manager’s faith with a sublime assist that got Diego Costa firing in his 11th goal of the season and most importantly got Chelsea back into the match that ended 3-1 favouring the Blues.

To ensure Arsenal stay on track in the title race and other cup tournaments, a move for Fabregas would be fruitful. Especially with Santi Cazorla out for three months after undergoing surgery on an Achilles problem. Arsenal comprises a compendium of quick and technically gifted attackers who would continually chase the absolute peach passes supplied by Fabregas.

With Alexis Sanchez predominantly leading the line for The Gunners, it has offered Mesut Ozil license to bombard more often in the final third, and the “Assist King” is currently working on his goal tally too. Therefore, there won’t be such thing of playing two identical players as Fabregas could sit as an anchor role and spray passes back and forth.

Some Arsenal fans might not agree with this controversial transfer yet looking at the quality he could bring to the team, it’s certainly a big uptick. Also, in recent times, a cluster of renowned stars have returned to their former clubs, such as David Luiz and Mario Gotze, and they have been crucial figures for the club’s fine form.

However, as much as Conte knows that Fabregas isn’t part of his plans, is he willing to strengthen one of his title rivals? Following Liverpool’s dramatic 4-3 defeat to Bournemouth, Arsenal are breathing heavily on Chelsea’s shoulder in the second spot, only 3 points behind. He would be more than happy to see the Spaniard leaving to other leagues.
