Rising English boss earmarks Chelsea star as first signing ahead of Premier League adventure

Kieran McKenna manages says he wants Chelsea loanee Omari Hutchinson as his birthday gift

According to Football.London, Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna has already said what he wants for a birthday gift after people asked him during the club’s event after they earned a promotion to the Premier League.

When Mckenna’s chairman, Mark Ashton, asked him what he wanted to buy for the big stage event on his 38th birthday next week, the manager replied, “Omari.”

Omari Hutchinson spent a season on a loan at Ipswich and was influential in their promotion to the English top-flight league. The forward appeared in 44 Championship matches this season, recording 10 goals and four assists.

Though he wasn’t given enough faith at the beginning of the season, the 20-year-old proved his worth after a few games and went on to establish himself as a fan and club favourite while showcasing his amazing abilities. Chelsea will now speak with his agency to determine whether to send him on another loan or retain him for the upcoming campaign. Chelsea would have been watching his performance for Tractor Boys and probably have been encouraged.

Mauricio Pochettino would be excited to work with the talented star who had a massive impact at Ipswich, and he would want players who can make an instant impression at the club. However, it will be his first season in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see if he will be prepared to cope with the intensity of the league. So the Blues will have to think before making any decisions about his future.

However, the Blues will also consider their financial options because they are aware that his departure will result in a sizable profit and relieve some of the team’s burden. Either that, or they try to get him into the starting lineup, which is unlikely because other players are already ahead of him in the standings and he will not grow if he is benched for the upcoming campaign.
