Mauricio Pochettino urges the people to ask Chelsea board if they want to keep next season
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino seems to have reached a breaking point with the constant speculation about his future, redirecting inquiries about his potential sacking to the Blues board. Despite the ongoing rumours, the Argentine manager still has one more year remaining on his Chelsea contract.
Throughout the season, Pochettino’s tenure at Chelsea has been under scrutiny due to the team’s mixed results. “I’ve had enough of these stupid rumours. You need to ask the club whether it wants me to keep going or not. If I have one more year on my contract here and no one says anything, then I suppose that I am going to be here. If there’s a decision and someone says to me ‘ciao’, okay. But we don’t know at the moment.”.
It is fair to say that Pochettino has had enough of distractions off the field. In the end, the decision after all lies with the board. It is best that we allow the Argentine to work his magic on the field than worry about things that are not in his control.
Pochettino deserves the opportunity for another season based on what he has achieved so far. He inherited a squad that was in disarray, with players struggling both physically and mentally, lacking confidence and stability.
