“He will definitely move”- European club chief confirms being asked about Arsenal’s target at Chelsea’s 6-0 win vs Everton

European club Shakhtar Donetsk’s chief, Sergey Palkin, confirms the move of their midfielder Georgiy Sudakov amid Arsenal and Chelsea links

European club Shakhtar Donetsk’s CEO reveals £60 million-rated offensive midfielder Georgiy Sudakov would “definitely” leave the club this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal among those interested.

The 21-year-old is ready to be the next big talent to emerge from Ukrainian football, and the Blues will face competition from Arsenal and Manchester United, according to the reports.

Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergey Palkin was in London this week. As the club now prepares for the summer transfer window and the expected departure of star player Sudakov. He was seen at Chelsea’s game against Everton on Monday night at Stamford Bridge when the Blues defeated Everton by a staggering score of 6-0.

Shakhtar on Sudakov’s move

Shakhtar CEO Sergei Palkin, who played a role in Mudryk’s transfer to Chelsea despite competition from Arsenal, stated:

“This summer window, he has a big chance to move to some big clubs. We have had some contacts with big clubs and some are not negotiating with us directly but are getting a feel for the summer environment.”

“He will definitely move to a top European club this summer. When I was at Chelsea versus Everton on Monday, many people asked me about Sudakov.”

Napoli’s £34 million proposal for Sudakov, who has 14 caps for Ukraine, was rejected in January. It fell short of Shakhtar’s £43 million counteroffer, which did not include prospective add-ons.

Shakhtar is now asking for £60 million, which is somewhat less than the initial £62.5 million the Blues paid for Mudryk, but that sum may increase to £88.5 million with add-ons.

The 21-year-old star midfielder would be a valuable addition to any club he joins, as his display of performance this season has been a delight to watch. The Ukrainian star has scored seven goals and three assists in 29 appearances this season in all competitions.

This summer, Chelsea and Arsenal may once again go head-to-head for another talented Ukrainian player. The Gunners were leading the race to sign Mudryk during the 2023 January transfer window but Chelsea pulled off a hijack to secure the winger’s services.
