‘Fantastic’ Real Madrid midfielder makes decision on future amid Chelsea interest as Conor Gallagher’s future hangs in the balance

Chelsea express interest in signing Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz

According to Defensa Central, Chelsea have turned their eyes on fantastic Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz as they hope to reinforce their attacking line in the squad. The 24-year-old has gained prominence for the Spanish club and has produced five goals and three assists in 24 La Liga games.

The Premier League has cautioned the Blues that they may violate their Financial Fair Play policy, therefore they will want to sell a lot of players before going on another recruitment binge the next season.

Conor Gallagher is one of the players the Blues may sell since the team views his sale as a pure profit. As a result, the team places more attention on selling players than on recruiting new ones.

Is Diaz an ideal signing?

It makes no sense to sign Diaz because we now have Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku who can play in the same position as Diaz. The Moroccan player is an asset for the Spanish squad and has all the makings of a quality player. The Blues have enough players, though, to fill his role. Palmer has been fantastic for us this season; he can play both AM and left wing.

Nkunku, on the other hand, can also play behind a striker, therefore having a third option in the lineup is unnecessary as it will simply lead to complexity. Furthermore, Diaz might not succeed with us right away even if we are successful in acquiring him. It’s never easy to adjust to the intensity of the Premier League, and it might take him two or more seasons to find his best. He isn’t eager to leave Madrid, so we would be better off not signing him.

Since Moises Caicedo looks to be taking his time impacting midfield, we opt for a defensive midfielder who can help regulate our midfielder instead. Because when Caicedo drops further up the pitch, our midfield-defence gap widens, making it easy for the opposition to exploit.

But before making any signings, the Blues first offload players through whom they can earn a significant profit, and like last season, they could sell many notable players. Conor Gallagher, who has been terrific for us might be forced to sell to help the club financially.
