Report: Chelsea could pay a six-figure compensation fee to sign Brighton employee and bolster the team

Chelsea set to pay Brighton & Hove Albion big six-figure sum to bring Sam Jewell to West London

According to the Sun, Chelsea are set to reinforce their scouting team, as they are eager to pay Brighton & Hove Albion the compensation fee to bring super-scout Sam Jewell to West London. Jewell background has been impressive, the head of scout has helped Brighton identify the likes of Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister.

After Chelsea harboured their interest, Jewell was then put on gardening leave by the Seagulls, and the West Londoners are ready to splash money to buy him out of his contract by paying the Brighton “big six-figure sum.”.

However, the fees have been reported to be less than what Manchester United will have to pay Newcastle United to bring Dan Ashworth. United will have to pay around £20 million to tempt him away from St. James’ Park in the summer.

Ashworth was the ex-Brighton head of recruitment, and when he left for the Magpies, Jewell was handed that position at the Seagulls. The 31-year-old has been key to bringing in many players who are now prominent stars in the Premier League.

Chelsea will have a cognitive scout who will bring his opinions and principles to the club and help find numerous players who could go on to become future stars if they are successful in enticing him to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea needs to add more seasoned employees with Premier League expertise who can provide more astute insight to the board. Jewell appears to have done a terrific job at Brighton; he brought in Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, both of whom have developed into significant players for their respective teams.

Chelsea needs a change in their acquisition process because the majority of signings have been young players, and hopefully Jewell recruitment will help sign experienced players. The squad needs to be balanced between experienced and young players if we want to compete for trophies.

Our young player acquisition strategy has been brilliant, and the majority of them have shown their merit in various leagues. However, we need to make some changes to our recruitment process, and the focus should now shift to bringing in mature players who will mesh with our young players. With Jewell’s background, perhaps the Blues will be able to identify potential stars.
