Glen Johnson makes Newcastle prediction that will not please Chelsea fans

Glen Johnson feels Newcastle United will win against Chelsea

Former Chelsea player Glen Johnson has backed Newcastle United to get the better of the Blues in their clash on Monday night at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have yet to defeat the Magpies in the Premier League after losing their first match 4-1 this season.

There has been growing pressure on Mauricio Pochettino, who was whistled in a 2-2 draw with Brentford, and if the Blues manage to lose against Tyneside, then things will further deteriorate between fans and the Argentine manager.

The main factor that has culminated in the team’s loss has been our maturity in the matches and Pochettino has very few options due to injuries to most of the players. The Blues will face yet another rigorous test in the Newcastle game.

And now Johnson feels his former side hasn’t been scoring much, and the Magpies are a bloody dangerous side. Speaking to DAZN Bet, he made his prediction and said via Metro:

‘‘If Newcastle get off to a good start, they could very easily win the game. I think on current form, it will be 2-1 to Newcastle.’’

This season we will be underdogs against a side who are doing better than us and what Johnson predicted could be true but it all depends on our performance. So our players need to be ready. We went down 4-1 in the away game, so it will not be an easy match, They are a physically strong team who are one of the best sides in areal duels.

They are a better side, well-developed, and will be attempting to cause all sorts of troubles in the game. These games are tactically won and Pochettino will have to set up the team in a way that the players will be able to execute the game plan and nullify the Magpies tactically.

This will be a challenging game, and we won’t have our entire team available for this one. We have always been a better team in these crucial games, but the main reason is that we constantly falter under pressure from the opposition. This needs to change because if it doesn’t, it will be much harder to even find a place above the top 10 in the Premier League table.
