Former Chelsea star and Brazilian star Oscar is linked with a sensational move to the European club. The 32-year-old’s deal with Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Port expires at the end of 2024.

According to UOL, via the Sun, the forward’s return is imminent after seven years, but the playmaker is also courted by Brazilian club Internacional, and it will be interesting to see where the 32-year-old ends up.

And now a return to the European club is on the cards. The Brazilian forward has already played for a European club, Chelsea, but he left the Blues in 2017 for a big transfer fee of £60 million. Oscar moved from Internacional to Chelsea in 2012. The forward had several successful spells at the club and was regarded as an exciting player at the time.

He spent four and a half seasons at Stamford Bridge, appearing in 203 appearances and registering 38 goals for the Blues. His trophy-laden time at West London saw him win two Premier Leagues—the League Cup and the Europa League—as well as the club’s Goal of the Season award twice.

By that time, Oscar had become one of the most prominent names in European football, but it was a bit surprising when the 32-year-old chose to leave the club and instead join a Chinese side in 2017. 

Shanghai Port, a Chinese club, enticed Oscar with a lucrative pay offer of £400,000 per week.Since he made the decision to join them and now his tenure with the club is drawing to a conclusion, and it is now likely for him to rejoin the European team.

In football, money has emerged as an effective strategy for luring elite players into their league. It’s no longer strange that Saudi Arabia became one of those leagues that tempted players away from European clubs during the previous season.
