Mauricio Pochettino has been under immense pressure this season following Chelsea’s on field performances. They are sitting tenth in the Premier League table with 35 points with immense pressure from Wolves who are placed 11th with same points.
While many fans want the Argentine manager to be sacked, Todd Boehly & the management at Chelsea are said to trust Mauricio Pochettino to not only push them away from current turbulent waters but also lead the Blues from London to glory again.
Mauricio Pochettino has time and time again said, “we need time” and the boss could be right in a sense about this.
What can Chelsea & Pochettino do to save the season?
Silverware. Winning silverware is how managers are judged and Mauricio Pochettino has an opportunity to doing just that this weekend. Chelsea face Liverpool at Wembley Stadium on Sunday for the League Cup final. While many don’t value EFL Cup and what it represents, this is an opportunity for Pochettino to win Chelsea’s first title under Todd Boehly‘s time at the Bridge, Silverwares bring confidence among the squad, it helps to sell the project to future transfer prospects and gives supporters something to celebrate with a reason to back the players on the pitch.
Uniting with the supporters has to be one of the important factors for a long-term project to succeed. Offensive sequences: Chelsea like to build up with the ball in the first phase while drawing opposition players with them which opens up space for arriving players in the said space. Doing so they not only take majority of opponents out of the game, they also create a situation where they can counter attack from from the middle of the ground. We saw them do this successfully against Manchester City last weekend. These types of sequences played in various ways are difficult to create consistently. These should come with time but the officials at Chelsea can ensure that chemistry between the offensive players is enough for them to play those sequences successfully on consistent basis.
