Tottenham Hotspur set to make another approach for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher

With the January transfer approaching an end, there are still some speculations regarding Chelsea’s midfielder Conor Gallagher’s move to North London club Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the Times, the Spurs may once again make a renewed approach for the Blues academy player, who has yet to sign a new contract with the West Londoners.

There have been some issues related to his contract situation, as the midfielder’s asking for an increase in his salary has led to some disagreement with the club. Chelsea are open to selling Gallagher and are asking for £50 million, but Tottenham are reluctant to meet. There hasn’t been any contact from the club with Gallagher.

Chelsea’s London rivals might be ready to test the waters, but they first have to offload some players to make space for Gallagher’s signing. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg was touted as a potential exit but a recent report claims he will remain at the club.

Chelsea, meantime, will be prepared to wait until next summer, but they will have to be quick and decide Gallagher’s future by the end of the season because he has only one year left on his Chelsea contract.

They will have to expedite his sales or extend his contract because they are running out of time. However, the primary issue at hand is Gallagher’s pay, which the team refuses to cover.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, the 23-year-old has been radiant, forming a terrifying midfielder with his teammates. The supporters are not in favour of selling him since they are captivated by his game as well.

Gallagher, on the other hand, is seen by Chelsea as nothing more than profit, and the Blues’ ability to make money during the transfer window depends on selling him. Gallagher appears prepared to battle for his starting spot, and Pochettino has given the midfielder his support. When the winter window closes, it will be intriguing to see how his future at Chelsea plays out.
