Pochettino says he is ‘desperate’ for Chelsea milestone after 6-2 agg. win vs Middlesbrough

Mauricio Pochettino make audacious claim and states that he is eager to win trophies with Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino has expressed optimism about winning trophies with Chelsea and conveyed his eagerness to secure silverware for the club, especially after leading the Blues to the final of the Carabao Cup.

Facing pressure to overturn a narrow 1-0 goal deficit, the likelihood of Chelsea securing a resounding 6-1 victory over Middlesbrough in the semi-final was initially uncertain.

Pochettino’s success in guiding the team to a final place in his first season as the manager has addressed questions about his ability to transform a young and somewhat disjointed squad focused on building for the future.

After the win, the former Paris Saint-Germain manager spoke to the press and made a daring statement, which will give Chelsea fans some confidence under Pochettino, (h/t Football.London), who said:

“I am desperate to win a title here. We won in Paris three trophies, and we want to come here, of course. I am desperate to win, of course.”

Pochettino deserves all the credit for transforming this initially disorganized squad into a winning unit in such a short time. When he took over as manager, Chelsea barely had experienced players to lift the team out of the challenges they faced, and the initial results weren’t convincing.

Taking charge of a squad that experienced numerous changes, went through the appointment of four new managers in the previous campaign, and finished 12th in the table required significant effort to implement his philosophy and develop numerous raw talents within the team. Pochettino’s impact has been instrumental in reshaping the team’s dynamics and achieving success.

He spent so many years at Tottenham Hotspur and couldn’t win a trophy, but in his first stint as Chelsea coach, he led them to the final of a domestic tournament with a much younger squad. Surely Chelsea will be vindicated should Pochettino indeed go all the way.
