Fabrizio Romano provides a transfer update that would please Chelsea fans

Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham Hotspur set to avoid signing Chelsea player Conor Gallagher in January window

Fabrizio Romano gave an insight on Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher and revealed it will be tough for Spurs to sign the England international.

He also says that the North Londoners are happy with their winter signing, and there is unlikely to be an approach from them for the 23-year-old signing. They will first offload some players, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been one of them whose sale could help the club land Gallagher.

The Blues are ready to sell their academy player and have slapped a £50 million price tag on him as they feel his sale will help the club achieve pure profit. Along with Gallagher, Armando Broja has been put on sale.

But so far, there has been no approach made by the interested parties because the Blues are desperate to make a heavy profit similar to last summer when they offloaded many fringe players. Fabrizio Romano provided further updates on Gallagher and told GiveMeSport:

“At the moment, they’ve still not approached Chelsea for Gallagher. So, there is no direct conversation, and it remains an expensive deal for the winter transfer window. It won’t be easy at all.”

It is always unwise to sell your best player—someone who has modified his game—to a rival team since he will only serve to shore up their squad, which is already performing well in the league. It would be awful to sell him over the winter, but we can consider offloading during the summer when we will have more time to recruit a replacement.
