Chelsea target matches Jude Bellingham’s numbers and has 5th most G/A in Top 5 European leagues

Chelsea’s next target Artem Dovbyk matches Jude Bellingham in the number of goals scored but outplays him in assists

Chelsea transfer target from Girona, Artem Dovbyk, boasts the fifth-best league goal involvements among Europe’s Top 5 leagues. The Ukranian boasts as many goals as the ‘highly celebrated’ Jude Bellingham in La Liga this season. However, the Girona man edges past his rival in the number of assists provided.

Dovbyk has scored 14 goals and assisted five as opposed to the Real Madrid star’s 14 goals and three assists. This puts the Ukraine international in an elite group involving some of the best individuals across Europe.

Girona have been the most surprising performers this season. They lead the table with 52 points, having played a game more than rivals Real Madrid who trail by just one point. Girona has only lost once from the 21 games played so far. The loss was suffered at the hands of Real Madrid itself.

Chelsea are monitoring the Ukrainian according to The Guardian. Artem Dovbyk catapulted his fame, especially after his six-minute hat-trick against Sevilla last weekend.

The shuffle needed within Chelsea to accommodate Dovbyk

Artem Dovbyk is a poacher, a perfect ‘number 9’. His arrival could make things difficult for Armando Broja. Should the Girona star arrive in West London, Broja will have to find a new destination.

The Albanian’s season was marred by recurring knee injuries. This limited his appearance for Pochettino, who hasn’t granted the 22-year-old even one 90-minute game. Broja has just a goal and an assist to boast from 13 games.

Armando Broja will likely lose his place if Chelsea signs Dovbyk

Sky Sports recently reported that Chelsea has set a price of £50m for Broja with Fulham and Wolves are interested in signing the young forward. Pochettino also revealed that the club is not compelled to sell a player to buy one, but they need a striker themselves and off-loading another could make it easy for the manager.
