Levi Colwill feels Chelsea and their rivalry with Tottenham was the best growing up

Chelsea and Tottenham are set to face each other for the first time this season, and plenty of stakes rest on this game, though the Spurs presently look favourites to claim a win given their current form.

Tottenham are yet to lose a game this season under Ange Postecoglou and have occupied first place in the Premier League table, while Chelsea are 13th in the standings.

Both London clubs will go into this game with a point to prove, as it is one of the best London derbies in the Premier League. When it comes to success, Chelsea are certainly ahead of them, having won more trophies than them.

Spurs have not won a trophy since 2007, but under their new head coach, they have looked like one of the best sides in football and could challenge for the title this season.

Chelsea’s centre-back Levi Colwill is well aware of the Blues and Spurs rivalry and had his say on their matches, (Football.London), Speaking to the club’s media channel, Colwill said:

“We had the best rivalry with Tottenham growing up. I can’t really remember if they ever beat us. Playing against them home or away, we knew it was going to be a fight, and we really enjoyed it. I remember once at under-16 (level) we played them in a cup game on the match pitch at Cobham, and we nicked it 2-1 or 1-0 in the last minute. It might have been a handball and someone scored. They were going crazy and it was the best feeling ever! It shut them up. They were the better team on the day but we got the win and that’s what matters. It was on the match pitch at Cobham.”

One of the biggest rivalries in football is undoubtedly between Spurs and Chelsea; we have seen many exciting matches between the two teams. But since we have every football trophy there is to be won, it is evident that we are the most successful club in London. There is no doubting Chelsea’s status as London’s most accomplished club. Currently, Arsenal and Spurs are enjoying a successful period, while Chelsea are in their redevelopment phase.
