However, his rapid development shows how much he has matured, and many foreign clubs are already taking notice of him. If he keeps up his explosive improvement, a transfer to a major club may be in the works.

Chelsea have always been the club that is keen on acquiring such young talents since the arrival of Todd Boehly. They signed statements with such Brazilian youngsters when they acquired Andrey Santos, Angelo Gabriel, and David Washington.

Chelsea face competition from Premier League rivals for Matheus Reis.

Matheus has represented the U17 Brazil team, and their football federations are also pushing for the youngsters to continue playing for the national team. Fluminense are aware of the interests of other clubs, and the teenager has a €50 million release clause, which shouldn’t be a hindrance for such Premier League giants.

Under Bohely, Chelsea hasn’t hesitated to spend a lot of money on young, gifted players. Now that Matheus is another exceptional young player about whom the Blues have inquired, it’s clear they may make a move if he keeps up his impressive play. Even so, other clubs will be competing with us, so it will be interesting to watch how things work out.
