Mauricio Pochettino says Christopher Nkunku could return after November international break

Chelsea fans have been patient enough to wait for Christopher Nkunku to make his Blues debut, and now Mauricio Pochettino has hinted that the forward may make his return from injury following the November international break.

The former RB Leipzig forward picked up a knee injury during pre-season in a game against Borussia Dortmund and required surgery, which kept him out for a long spell.

The forward has now returned to light training in the gym, and it appears he is slowly making a comeback, which will be a great boost for the Blues. Nkunku’s return will give the Blues that cutting edge that they have lacked this campaign.

Cole Palmer is discontent with the result after Arsenal fought back to secure a 2-2 draw against Chelsea.

Even though he missed much of the previous season due to a knee injury, the French forward scored 16 goals and finished joint-top scorer for Leipzig. Although playing in the Premier League will be completely distinct for the forward, his experience should help him adjust quickly.

The fans will be desperate to see him in action, and they have now been updated that he can return after the November international break. (h/t Football.London) The Argentine manager further told the media before the Brentford clash:

“Maybe after the next international he will be involved. Maybe, maybe, it’s not sure.”

With Nkunku’s involvement, Chelsea will be able to reach an entirely new level of creativity and goal-scoring potential. Even if our offence has been sufficiently inventive, we have struggled to score goals, which Nkunku will rectify. Given that he has already played with the players in the preseason, he shouldn’t have any trouble establishing a connection with them either.

But we should keep in mind that we cannot rush him and must wait for him to properly recover from a knee injury. We still have some time before he returns, and it will be exciting to have the Frenchman’s presence during the game, which will provide further firepower to our attack.
