“I said sorry to him”- Cole Palmer reveals he apologized to Mauricio Pochettino after unfortunate moment in Chelsea vs Arsenal draw

Cole Palmer claims he accidentally hit Chelsea’s manager with a water bottle and had to apologise

Cole Palmer revealed during an interview with the club that he had to say sorry to Mauricio Pochettino after he threw the bottle of water at him accidentally.

The summer signing has come good for Chelsea, having brilliantly reinforced the Blues attack and added plenty of creativity. The former Manchester City player now has two goals to his name in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old was on the scoresheet against Arsenal, and when Mykhaylo Mudryk added a second goal, it appeared the Blues were cruising to their third win before the Gunners mounted a comeback.

Chelsea threw away a deserved win, and Mauricio Pochettino, who was on the sidelines, certainly didn’t like the manner in which his players conceded two goals from Arsenal.

However, for him, things went bad when Palmer mistakenly hit the Argentine manager with a water bottle, (h/t Mirror) but in an interview with Chelsea’s club website, he confirmed he apologised to him and said:

“When they scored their second goal, I was getting a drink. I went to throw the bottle away, as you do, but didn’t look. I just saw it loop slowly and hit the gaffer. I said sorry to him and apologised properly after the game. Hopefully, he won’t drop me for that.”

He apologised, and it’s not a big problem, and Pochettino won’t be pondering such a minor matter. Of course, he didn’t throw the bottle at him purposely; it was very definitely an accident. He would be more unhappy with how his team wasted opportunities to extend their lead to four goals when holding a two-goal advantage.

Palmer is crucial for us in attack, and Pochettino knows that very well and will certainly not bench the former Man City player due to a trivial matter. We’ll hopefully correct the errors we made against Arsenal and be more geared up for the upcoming games.
