Marc Cucurella feels luck played massive part in Chelsea 4-1 win against Burnley

Marc Cucurella opened up about Chelsea’s impressive 4-1 win against Burnley, acknowledging the role of luck in their triumph. Cucurella highlighted that their first goal, which kick-started their comeback, was the result of a fortunate deflection.

Cucurella, who has been a standout performer in consecutive Premier League games following Malo Gusto’s suspension, has certainly made a strong case for himself. However, the question now looms – will he retain his spot once Gusto and Reece James return to the lineup?

This victory marked a significant turning point for the Blues, as they secured back-to-back wins for the first time in a while. Under the guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, it seems that the team is finally finding its rhythm.

What set this match apart was the exceptional performance of every player on the field. Instead of crumbling under pressure after conceding the opening goal, Chelsea displayed fluid and confident football. This win holds immense importance as it leaves the players in high spirits as they return from the October international break, where they will face formidable opponents like Arsenal, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Now, Chelsea’s left-back, Marc Cucurella, has shared his thoughts on the 4-1 victory over Vincent Kompany’s side. Speaking to the Chelsea website, he commented:

“‘Today, maybe we got a little bit of luck with the first goal; we’ve not had that in other games. Then we continue. We believe in ourselves and the plan, and we have three really important points.'”

Cucurella emphasized the significance of luck, especially when the team is not performing at its best. While the first goal may have been a stroke of fortune, the subsequent goals were the fruits of exceptional teamwork. This fortunate start served as a vital catalyst for the players, motivating them to push for more goals. Special recognition goes to Raheem Sterling, whose contributions played a pivotal role in achieving those goals.

Following the fortuitous first goal, Sterling dazzled, effortlessly maneuvering past Burnley’s defenders and creating numerous scoring opportunities. Ultimately, he found the back of the net, deserving every bit of credit. The hope now is that Chelsea can sustain this outstanding performance even after the international break. It has come at the worst time possible for us but we have to learn to live with it.
