Chelsea learn price-tag of 18-year-old Real Madrid target playing in Germany

Dortmund have revealed price tag of Youssoufa Moukoko amid interest from top European clubs including Chelsea

According to Fichajes, Borussia Dortmund have revealed the price tag for Youssoufa Moukoko with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Chelsea lining up a move for the youngster.

Moukoko’s time at Dortmund looks uncertain after the forward has barely gotten enough game time this season, and a host of European clubs are ready to capitalise on his situation.

The 18-year-old signed his new contract last season but could leave the club if he doesn’t get enough minutes on the pitch. The German international is currently facing competition from the likes of Niclas Füllkrug and Sébastien Haller in his starting lineup.

Chelsea are keen on adding a striker in the January transfer window, but it would be sensible for us to go for an experienced centre-forward rather than a youngster.

The same could be argued for Real Madrid and Barcelona, who both require a No. 9 player. This is because Real Madrid only has Joselu, and Barcelona do not have a Robert Lewandowski alternative. Meanwhile, the Blues already have the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Armando Broja, who are in their early 20s, so signing another young striker isn’t a wise decision.

Moukoko is only 18 years old, and it’s clear the German club would prefer a more seasoned striker in attack, but considering his youth and the fact that Dortmund is a heaven for developing young players, he will play a good amount of minutes.

Because we already have two young strikers who are going through development, Chelsea will be better off without adding another. Mauricio Pochettino would find it challenging to manage three young strikers. The Blues should better look for a proven centre-forward who is clinical in front of goal. Investing in young players is a good thing, but having experienced players also helps the young players develop. Our squad should have a mix of young and experienced players.

He needs to compete for a spot because he is only 18 and has an enormous amount of talent, and Dortmund are the appropriate club for developing players of his age. Given that he is only 18 and has lots of time to mature into a proven striker, we might consider signing him in the future.
