“Good test”- Rival centre-back sends a warning to teammates ahead of West Ham United vs Chelsea

Vladimir Coufal expects the match against Chelsea will be a good test for West Ham United

Vladimir Coufal has praised Chelsea for their performance against Liverpool and warned his teammates that West Ham United will face a real test against the Blues on Sunday evening in their Premier League fixture at the London Stadium.

Chelsea held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw in their opening Premier League game of the 2023–24 season against the Reds after goals from Luiz Diaz and Axel Disasi for their respective sides. They could have even won it had the finishing has been less wayward.

The Blues were the better side for plenty of the minutes and came close to securing a win, giving them enough confidence going forward. Now Pochettino will be hoping to oversee his first competitive win when they take on West Ham.

After Chelsea signed Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia this week, the Argentine manager will hope to field a solid starting lineup in a bid to claim his first competitive victory as Chelsea’s head coach. West Ham are no pushovers and could certainly cause an upset or two on their day.

Hammers’ centre-back Coufal has already told his teammates to prepare as they will face a real challenge when they take on Chelsea, as he told West Ham’s official site:

“I watched Chelsea against Liverpool, and I was really impressed. Pochettino has done really well with them so far. They were playing quick, one-touch football, and it is going to be a good test for us on Sunday.”

We played stupendously against Liverpool and ought to have won the game. But hopefully, we will learn from those discarded opportunities and avoid reliving them when we go to the London Stadium. The Hammers, who drew their most recent game 1-1 against Bournemouth are yet to hit top gear and could be there for the taking. With Caicedo and Lavia now available, we can count on more quality on the field to make a difference.

David Moyes’s club sold their skipper player, Declan Rice and they will be worse off in the Englshman’s absence. We also have an outstanding record versus the Hammers in the last five games, having won three of our last five meetings and drawn one. Hopefully, the record continues.
