Chelsea offer €20 million plus wantaway ace for prolific Serie A superstar

Juventus offered €20 million by Chelsea in Romelu Lukaku and Dusan Vlahovic swap deal

Chelsea have offered Juventus €20 million in addition to Romelu Lukaku to acquire the services of Dusan Vlahovic this summer, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.

The Bianconeri are interested in getting a hold of the Belgium international’s signature in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, a swap between him and the Serbia international has been proposed.

Vlahovic is an attractive and sellable asset for the Old Lady to raise cash in the coming weeks. To that end, the Serie A giants are keen on parting ways with the 23-year-old.

However, Juventus want more than what the Blues are currently offering. The Bianconeri signed the Serbian for €81.6 million from Fiorentina in January 2022.

The two clubs are still in close contact and it is expected that an offer between €30–35 million could get a deal over the line. Therefore, the Stamford Bridge are not that far off as things stand.

Lukaku has enjoyed a topsy-turvy spell at Chelsea so far. Over the years, the 30-year-old’s career has had mixed moments. However, his first spell at Inter Milan was impressive, which compelled the Blues to buy him.

Romelu Lukaku has struggled at Chelsea.

Unfortunately, the striker now seems to be out of the West London club’s plans. The Stamford Bridge side also evidently need a striker. Thus, a swap for the Belgian makes sense.

But Vlahovic has not enjoyed the best of spells over the last few months either. In the 2022/23 term, the number nine scored 14 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Italian outfit.

While the Serbian’s numbers are not encouraging, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will end up signing him. Considering his age and potential compared to Lukaku, it is understandable that Juventus want a considerable sum in the swap deal.
