Chelsea feel they are being ‘used’ in Kylian Mbappe saga at PSG

The Kylian Mbappe transfer politics is making Chelsea feel that their name is just being ‘used’

As per Football London, Chelsea feel that they are just being ‘used’ in this transfer circus involving French superstar Kylian Mbappe and his departure from Paris-Saint Germain.

The Blues hierarchy suspect the club’s name is just being dragged in this saga. The 24-year-old’s most likely destination remains Real Madrid if he leaves the French capital this summer.

Mbappe’s contract with PSG expires next summer (Transfermarkt). A couple of days ago, Football London revealed that Chelsea are planning a player-plus-cash move to sign the forward and keep him for a year before he leaves for Madrid next year.

The Frenchman was offered a world-record transfer fee of £259m by Saudi Arabia club Al-Hilal to sign him on a one-year deal before allowing him to leave for free to Madrid in 12 months’ time.

The forward rejected that offer though. PSG are increasingly getting irritated by the approach Madrid are taking to sign their dream target. It seems like this transfer saga will rumble on till the final hours of this window.

Mbappe was left out of the French champions’ pre-season squad. It remains to be seen whether he starts the season for them. PSG play their first game of the campaign against FC Lorient on Saturday, 12th August.

Amidst all of this, it really does feel that Chelsea’s name is used to detract attention from the main topic. The best thing the Blues can do is stay away from this and focus on preparing for the season ahead.
