Lautaro Martinez disappointed with Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku as Inter Milan interest fades

Lautaro Martinez has not shied away from saying how disappointed he is by Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku and his attitude ahead of a potential move to Inter Milan. It is safe to say that a return to the Giuseppe Meaza is now dead in the water.

The Argentine further asserts that he even contacted the 30-year-old, but he was unresponsive. Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at Inter Milan, was pushing to make a permanent move to Inter but failed to show his commitment when it mattered.

The Serie A club even submitted their offer to match Chelsea’s valuation of the Belgian striker, but when they got to know that the forward had been in contact with Juventus, they pulled out of the race. The Belgian now finds himself hated by a fanbase that once adored him.

The former Manchester United striker is in talks to join Juventus, and the Old Lady are hoping to secure his signing. But before that, they will have to offload Dusan Vlahovic. In many ways, Lukaku’s situation at Stamford Bridge remains unclear in what is a protracted saga this summer.

Now his former teammate Martinez has opened up about how disappointed he was when Lukaku did not pick up his call, as he told Gazzetta, quoted by Fabrizio Romano:

“Lukaku saga? I was disappointed by Romelu; it’s the truth. I tried to call him in those days of chaos, but he never answered me, the same as he did with my other teammates. I was disappointed. But ok, well, it’s his choice.”

Not only Martinez but we are also irritated by what Lukaku wants to do and the fact that he doesn’t seem to be making a firm decision about which team he wants to join. He persisted in pressing for a transfer to Inter, but after they came calling, he changed his mind and is now interested in joining Juventus. Surely he isn’t making life easier for himself.

Keeping a player against his will can lead to chaos, as it did the last time when he admitted in an interview that he wanted to return to Inter. It is extremely tiresome, but we hope his move to Juventus is completed as soon as possible because we cannot deal with him any longer. He could also cause issues in the locker room if he stays at Chelsea for the upcoming season.
