Juventus tell Chelsea they will not drop Dusan Vlahovic’s asking price

As per Metro, Juventus have informed Chelsea that they will not lower Dusan Vlahovic’s asking price as the Blues are keen to sign the Serbian striker.

According to Alfredo Pedulla, the Old Lady have set aside €75 million (£64 million)  plus further performance-related bonus payments for the 23-year-old striker and are unwilling to accept a lower bid for him.

It is also believed that the Blues have ascertained information about the former Fiorentina striker through his intermediaries but have yet to make an offer for him. This could spell trouble for us because the price tag placed on him is not a small one.

Although they have already signed Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal, the West Londoners are seemingly still looking to add a striker. David Datro Fofana has been loaned out to Union Berlin by the Blues, and the west London giants also attempting to decide Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s futures.

What next for Vlahovic?

Lukaku wants to return to Inter Milan after being loaned there for an entire season and also not decided to return to training, while the Gabonese striker is attracting interest from Saudi clubs.

Once Aubameyang and Lukaku’s futures are decided, there will certainly be space for the acquisition of another striker, as we will only be left with Armando Broja and Jackson. Those two are too unexperienced at the very top level to be leading the line right away.

He would be a decent addition but Vlahovic is still young and will need to adapt to the Premier League. He had a decent stretch during his first season at Juventus, where he tallied 10 goals in 27 Serie A matches. So we can anticipate that it will take him some time to feel at home here. But these are things we can only make educated guesses about.

Time is the only way for us to find out how he will adapt to new surroundings. He was a hit at Fiorentina and leading Juventus’ line is no small feat.

In addition, we have Mauricio Pochettino, who will undoubtedly assist the striker to quickly reach his potential. But it remains to be seen if the Blues will be willing to part with such an amount. The £60 million we will receive from Mason Mount’s sale to Manchester United should certainly help.
