Fabrizio Romano claims Inter Milan will make another loan bid for Chelsea star Romelu Lukaku
According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan are set to contact Chelsea again for striker Romelu Lukaku this summer. The Italians are expected to return with an offer to take the Belgian on loan with an obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.
Chelsea and Inter are working to reach an agreement to sell the striker permanently to the Serie A club. But Inter’s financial problems have prevented them from buying the striker on a permanent basis. The ball is now in Chelsea’s court to come up with a compromise.
Since he moved to the West Londoners in the 2021–22 season, where he once again failed to have a tangible effect on the club. It is a win-win for both parties to end their association this summer at the earliest.
The Blues turned down the Serie A giants opening loan bid for the former Everton striker as they have made their decision to sell him permanently. While the obligation to buy does more or less take the player off our hands, it remains to be seen if Chelsea are keen to cash in this summer itself.
The 30-year-old also only wants to join Inter despite interest from Saudi clubs Al-Hilal, AC Milan, and Juventus. His exit will help the club offload his wages off the books to comply with the Financial Fair Play regulations. It will also aid the management in pushing for a new striker given our struggles in front of the goal last season.
The club has already made decent sales from the departures of players such as Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Kai Havertz, and Mason Mount. They are also looking to find a suitor for another outcast striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is open to leaving the club.
Given that they will have to purchase Lukaku after his loan period is over, this offer sounds practical. Considering that the Belgian forward has no desire to play for Chelsea and that we already have players like Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson, and Armando Borja for the upcoming season, it makes little sense to keep him. Especially so when his heart is elsewhere.

Hopefully that this offer will persuade the Blues to part company with the 30-year-old striker and place a greater emphasis on developing the younger players, who are certainly going to shape the future of Chelsea.
