Chelsea still refusing to accept Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku offer

Chelsea want more on the table from Inter Milan if they are to sanction the sale of Romelu Lukaku

As per a tweet from Tom Roddy of the Sunday Times, Chelsea want a higher bid from Inter Milan as the Italian side’s new offer is not considered high enough to sell Romelu Lukaku.

Inter made a £25m+ bid to acquire the services of the Belgian. Chelsea consider that as a serious offer but not the one that will be accepted.

It is revealed that the transfer price offered by the Nerazzurri is the lowest among the three competitors vying for the signature of the 30-year-old. The two are in contention at Juventus and clubs in Saudi Arabia. Lukaku wants Inter though.

Regardless of when this deal comes to a conclusion, it is more or less a given that Lukaku won’t be a Chelsea player next season onward. It just seems like his exit is a matter of when rather than if, with the player also believed to be keen on a move.

He was sent out on loan to Inter last season and had a decent run there. His time at Chelsea during the 2021/22 season was an underwhelming one, to put it mildly.

Chelsea would have known that the Belgian cannot be trusted to take over the number nine role next season. They have signed young Nicolas Jackson but he cannot be the only problem to the goal-scoring issue in the team.

The Blues are in the race for Juventus marksman Dusan Vlahovic. However, the Serbian is now waiting for PSG to make the first offer just as when the French champions register their interest in him.

With pre-season underway and the start of the season less than a month away, Chelsea need to get their act together and find a striker who they can sign and rely on to score goals in abundance.

An important few days are coming up for the club and the manager. For Lukaku, let’s hope he is gone sooner rather than later.
