The Manchester-born player is a left-back who can play as a centre-back if required. He is labelled as the ‘Leighton Baines’ in a remark with the Everton legend who did very well for the club while playing as a left-back.

Samuels-Smith hasn’t made a senior appearance for the Toffees yet, but has impressed lots of people with his performances for the youth teams.

Chelsea have signed a plethora of young players in the last 12 months to lower the average of the first-team squad and bolster the youth teams. Knowing that their target hasn’t played a senior game yet, they might look to sign him and ask him to continue developing his game in the Academy before vying for a place in the first team.

It would also be interesting to know whether Everton would want to sell their young asset. The Toffees are known for handing out opportunities to young players before selling them or making them a regular in the senior squad.
