“It would be pure happiness”- Chelsea star excited for Christopher Nkunku’s potential Stamford Bridge arrival

Wesley Fofana claims he will be very happy to play alongside Christopher Nkunku if Chelsea move happens

Wesley Fofana claimed that he is looking forward to playing alongside RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku next season if the move to Chelsea officially happens.

The 25-year-old will bid a tearful farewell to the Bundesliga club as he will be joining Chelsea in the summer. Despite missing a few months due to injury, Nkunku had a great season with Leipzig and won the Golden Boot in the Bundesliga with 16 goals.

The French international’s £53 million release clause was activated by the Blues, but Chelsea have not yet officially announced his transfer to Stamford Bridge.

As for the forward, Fofana, who joined the West Londoners from Leicester City this season, is eager to play with him once the move matures.

When asked about Nkunku’s move to Chelsea, (h/t Metro) Fofana told the media:

‘’If it happens, I’m very happy. He has enormous qualities. It would be pure happiness to have him with us.’’

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old DFB Pokal winner gave a cryptic reply when asked about his move to West London, saying:

‘’I am focused on gathering with Les Bleus. Everything that happens after, we will have time to think.’’

We were fortunate to sign Nkunku in the time since he has improved over the course. This was an excellent signing from the Chelsea board as Nkunku has proved his credential and will make the club’s attacking line even more strong considering he will not only offer goals but creativity as well.

The highly versatile France international can play virtually anywhere in midfield and attack and has shown he can create goals as well as finish them off himself. Had we not signed him earlier, other teams would have surely come to the fore for him.

Meanwhile, Fofana endured a poor debut season at Chelsea, largely due to a lengthy injury last year. He has, however, shown during his time at Leicester City and his limited playing time with the Blues that he can be the successor to someone like Thiago Silva, who is now 38.

The 22-year-old can form a strong spine for Chelsea alongside Nkunku, who will be his teammate at the international level once he makes his senior bow for Les Bleus.
