Journalist Santi Aouna claims Chelsea wants to trade Edouard Mendy and money for the player in an effort to sign Andre Onana.
Additionally, it is said that Mauricio Pochettino wants the Cameroonian custodian to join the team for the upcoming season, and Mendy could join Inter if they agree to a deal.
The Senegalese custodian has dropped out of the squad this season despite being Thomas Tuchel’s first choice and helping the Blues win the Champions League.
He also expressed his desire to leave the club after barely playing this season and struggling through one of the toughest campaigns – rivals Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in signing the 31-year-old.
Furthermore, Mendy is rumoured to have hired a new agent who is Fali Ramadani as he frequently deals with Italian clubs for transfers.
Onana is currently having a fantastic season, which has increased his value in the transfer market. When Inter play Manchester City in the Champions League on June 10, the 27-year-old will be looking to help his team win their first UCL final since the 2009-10 season.
He is a very confident player on the ball, and his decision-making and ball distribution are excellent – qualities crucial for a modern-day goalkeeper. The former Ajax custodian joining Chelsea will be highly beneficial to the team, which will now be managed by Mauricio Pochettino.
And this transfer also makes sense because Mendy would also not want to sit on the bench and waste his career. He is still an elite goalkeeper; only a bad season has diminished his value. However, moving to a Serie A team might turn his career around.

Also, it will make room for Onana to join the Blues; hopefully, this offer is enough to convince Inter Milan to accept the deal and approve it. There is also the question of Kepa Arrizabalaga. It wouldn’t be an issue if the Spaniard is shown the door as well, but only if Onana, or a goalkeeper of equal stature, is signed.
