Journo says 29-year-old not eager to move to Chelsea to protect Tottenham legacy

Harry Kane unwilling to join Chelsea from Tottenham even after Mauricio Pochettino’s appointment

Harry Kane is unlikely to join Chelsea as he values his legacy at Tottenham Hotspur, and even Mauricio Pochettino’s appointment won’t convince the striker.

According to Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law, who claimed on his Youtube channel Last Word on Spurs, Kane might move to Real Madrid, but it would be impossible for him to transfer to Chelsea because of his legacy at White Hart Lane.

After spending several years with Spurs, the 29-year-old could be leaving the club, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Real Madrid are interested in recruiting the England captain.

However, Real Madrid are said to be preparing a move for the England international, and the striker has told his representatives to give the move the green light.

The Blues have faced plenty of adversity this season without a suitable striker. They continued to lack offensive firepower; therefore, one of their top priorities for the upcoming campaign is to add a striker.

Before making any signings for strikers, Chelsea will also need to decide on the futures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku. In addition, Pochettino has encouraged West Londoners to sign a good striker as he prepares to take over as Chelsea’s manager.

It makes sense that Kane values his legacy at Tottenham and will not join Chelsea out of respect, but football is unpredictable, and there have been numerous cases where players have made promises to their teams only to join a rival team.

One of them was Carlos Tevez, who switched from Manchester United to Manchester City, while Luis Figo went from Barcelona to Real Madrid. Apart from the obvious rivalry, it is also arguable if Chelsea offer him an upgrade right now.

If Kane leaves Spurs – a club he loves – it could be to win trophies immediately, given he is already 29. Chelsea aren’t in the Champions League next season and despite their heavy spending, don’t offer any assurances of being a team capable of winning titles right now. Although one would opine that we are perhaps a Harry Kane away from winning the big titles again.
