Galatasaray boss keen to raid Chelsea for more than one player this summer

Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk claims interest in several Chelsea stars

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has revealed that the Turkish side are looking to sign plenty of Chelsea players in the transfer window.

The Blues will be hoping to reduce their bloated squad before the start of the 2023/24 season as new manager Mauricio Pochettino prepares to start his reign. It is a fresh start of sorts for the west Londoners who fell well short of expectations in 2022/23.

Since the arrival of Todd Boehly, the club has spent around £600 million on new signings over the last two transfer windows. Their heavy spending has seen them listed among the 19 clubs on UEFA’s Financial Fair Play watchlist, which could hinder their ability to spend freely this summer.

Chelsea are keen to sign a midfielder, a striker, and a goalkeeper as their primary targets for next season. Meanwhile, one of Bules’ strikers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has been linked with a move to the Super League side.

West Londoners will have to offload many players to earn some profit and make room for incoming reinforcements. The Turkish side could prove to be a massive boon who can sign some of our stars, freeing up space in our squad.

The current Super Liga-winning club’s boss, Buruk, said on Tuesday to Turkish television show TV100 (h/t Metro): “We have a lot of players that we want from Chelsea.”

If they are willing to buy some of our players during the transfer window, it might be a huge benefit because it would allow us to decisively release unwanted players. The money brought in will certainly make it easier for us to reinvest into the playing squad.

Galatasaray have also been linked with a move to sign Aubameyang, and if they make a good offer, we must sell him. Whether it be in terms of arrivals or departures, the summer will be a busy time for the Blues.
