Romano says agent is expected to bring Saudi offers for two experienced Chelsea stars

Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy’s agent Fali Ramadani is expected to bring bids from Saudi clubs for the Chelsea duo

Fabrizio Romano has revealed Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy’s representative, Fali Ramadani, is expected to bring bids from Saudi clubs as both Chelsea players are linked with a move to the Middle East.

There is a growing feeling that both the Senegalese duo could leave the club in the summer window. Inter Milan have asked about the former Napoli defender in their meeting with Chelsea in London.

Meanwhile, Mendy is also no short of suitors, with Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing him, but both players are now attracting interest from Saudi clubs.

Both can favour a move to the Middle East given their lucrative offers. Chelsea’s midfielder N’Golo Kante has completed his second medical test with Al-Ittihad, and Koulibaly and Mendy could also follow the same path.

Mauricio Pochettino has also informed Chelsea that he wants to keep Kepa Arrizabalaga in his plans for next season, which could affect Mendy’s game time. With the arrival of Levi Colwill, Pochettino will have another option to play in central defence over Koulibaly, who struggled big time last season.

The sale of Koulibaly and Mendy could result in a healthy profit for the team. These are essentially two players that the squad may not miss if they are adequately replaced. Without Mendy, we will still have Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal.

It could be difficult for the Senegalese centre-back to get sufficient minutes on the pitch because our defence already features players like Wesely Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, Thiago Silva, and Trevoh Chalobah. Pochettino also likes to give chances to young players and develop them into world-class players.

Hopefully, the offers from Saudi Arabian clubs for the two aforementioned players is as lucrative for us as they would be for the players. The Middle East is fast becoming a destination for some of the finest players in Europe.
