Fabrizio Romano confirms Nicolas Jackson will undergo his Chelsea medical today

Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Villarreal sensation Nicolas Jackson will undergo a medical test today in London ahead of his switch to Chelsea.

The transfer specialist also revealed Chelsea are set to land the attacker for a deal in the region of €37 million. The youngster would become the latest addition to a young roster that could dominate for years if they continue to progress as expected.

It is also understood that the deal was done on Friday, and the striker is set to be signed and will soon be unveiled as a Blues player in the coming days.

Jackson enjoyed an excellent stint for the Yellow Submarines last season, scoring 13 goals in all competitions while also featuring for Senegal. He ended the season strongly as well, helping the club finish fifth in La Liga.

The Blues struggled to score goals last season as Kai Havertz operated as a false nine but failed to live up to expectations. Despite signing Christopher Nkunku, we could do with another elite attacker or two.

It is a summer of change at the Bridge with the West Londoners offloading several starssuch as Eduardo Mendy, N’Golo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Hakim Ziyech, who have all joined Saudi clubs or are middle eastbound. A fire sale was necessary for us to comply with the Financial Fair Play rule after they failed to qualify for the Champions League for the upcoming season.

Jackson demonstrated his ability to compete at Villarreal last season, and now it’s time to do the same in the Premier League, which is very different from La Liga.

He is young and full of potential, and Mauricio Pochettino will undoubtedly help him develop into a ruthless striker. If the Argentine can channel the inner Harry Kane from Jackson, Chelsea will have a dangerous player on their hands.

More Chelsea News:

Jackson will need time to acclimatise to the league and it is imperative that the Blues are patient with him. To expect Jackson to fill the void as far as goals are concerned would be too much to ask. At 22, he is full of promise but still is far from the finished product.
