Fabrizio Romano: Sidelined Chelsea star in talks with Saudi based clubs

Fabrizio Romano confirms Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has held talks with Saudi clubs

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is in talks with Saudi clubs over a potential move.

Romano further claims that while the move is not guaranteed, Aubameyang is in active discussion with clubs from the the Middle Eastern. Several other Chelsea stars are also in the same boat and the Saudi clubs could be our solution to getting past FFP sanctions.

The Gabonese striker was signed by Thomas Tuchel owing to their previous teamup at Borussia Dortmund. The 33-year-old has barely played since Tuchel was sacked, scoring only one goal in 15 Premier League outings.

Chelsea are open to selling the former Arsenal striker, signed him from Barcelona. The Gabonese striker flopped badly and was even dropped by then-manager Graham Potter from the Champions League squad last season.

Aubameyang is also open to leaving and is exploring the options. He is also ready to return to Barcelona, but the Catalan giants only want him for free. AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also interested in signing the striker, although it is unclear what they would be willing to offer.

Chelsea will also have to sort out Romelu Lukaku’s future, who is expected to return to the club, although the Belgian ace is open to remaining at Inter. However, getting rid of them before 30 June will also help the club balance their wages and begin signing new players, when the transfer window opens.

However, given that the 33-year-old is not getting any younger and that the Saudis have almost lured top European players with their lucrative offers, it could be very difficult for him to reject their offer. His departure will also lower our wage bill, and since he is under contract, we can sell him for a respectable profit.

Let’s just hope that he takes the Saudi offer since no European clubs have yet indicated that they would pay anything to sign him.
