Chelsea loanee offered to Newcastle United following Pochettino’s decision

Joao Felix offered to Newcastle United as Chelsea opts against permanent transfer

Joao Felix has been offered to Newcastle United following Mauricio Pochettino’s decision not to include the Portuguese in his plans for Chelsea for the upcoming season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Argentine’s decision demonstrates both his ruthlessness and his desire to have more control over decisions regarding players.

Felix previously said that he wants to stay at Chelsea. But now will return to Atletico Madrid in search of new pastures. Stamford Bridge, as it stands, is effectively ruled out as an option for now.

However, given the Spanish giants’ current great success without him and his falling out with manager Diego Simeone, his return to Atletico could be difficult. He has shown little success at the Wanda Metropolitano and hasn’t yet thrived in SImeone’s defensive setup.

Another loan exit could very well be on the cards next summer. There should be suitors given that Felix did a decent job at Stamford Bridge, scoring four times in 16 Premier League appearances.

The 23-year-old could join Newcastle or go back to Atletico, but Pochettino does not want the former Benfica forward. The 51-year-old has already made the first decision, and he will continue to do so in the club’s best interests.

Given that it is unlikely that Chelsea will keep the 23-year-old and considering Atletico’s outstanding performance without him, Felix faces a difficult decision in the summer window.

Additionally, the Spanish club is demanding a high price, which may make it difficult for the Portuguese player to leave on a permanent basis. If he ends up joining Newcastle, he will certainly reinforce their attack and also enjoy UEFA Champions League football.

However, for us, his replacement will be Christopher Nkunku, who is arguably a more prolific player. The Frenchman will certainly add much dynamism and could very well prove to be an upgrade on Felix.
