German football expert earmarks former Bundesliga boss as perfect Chelsea replacement

Ronan Murphy urge Chelsea to sign Julian Nagelsmann as manager

Since Graham Potter was fired, Chelsea are looking for a new manager, and German football analyst Ronan Murphy believes Julian Nagelsmann would be a great fit for the role.

Nagelsmann, who was fired by Bayern Munich, is currently jobless and may take over as Chelsea’s manager ahead of the 2023/24 season. According to reports, Chelsea is still debating whether to hire a new manager immediately and could take more time to assess their options.

The front-runners to lead Chelsea are the former Bayern Munich coach and ex-Spain boss Luis Enrique, although nothing is confirmed as of yet. The club could opt to appoint Frank Lampard as interim manager till the end of the current campaign.

Murphy, who works as a journalist for Football Transfers (h/t Football.London), stated that Nagelsmann was interested in joining the Premier League before taking over for Bayern in 2021. While he might have been dismissed at Die Roten, the 35-year-old is one of the best young managers in world football.

The 35-year-old may be a perfect match for Chelsea according to the German football expert, who stated:

“Chelsea seems like the ideal fit for Nagelsmann, even more so than Tottenham.

“Spurs would have seemed like a logical step after Leipzig, but now that he’s grown accustomed to winning with Bayern, only a team that can compete quickly seems realistic.”

He could be the perfect match for the team, but that won’t be clear until he takes over the helm at Chelsea. The German coach will undoubtedly assist the youngster in thriving under him, though. In the same way that he gave Jamal Musiala the chance to develop into one of the best young players in the world.

Mykhaylo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, and many other young players will have the chance to learn from him. Senior players, however, are another story. He was disliked by many players at Bayern Munich, so there may be problems if the Chelsea stars aren’t on board..More Chelsea News:

However, apart from building relationships with players, Nagelsmann is a great tactical manager. He likes intense pressing and attacking football, which could suit our players considering half of our squad is young. Yet, it is currently unknown if Chelsea will hire the 35-year-old this season; let’s wait and see.
