Despite being utterly outmatched by the Seagulls, Chelsea were spared a humiliating defeat as they fell to Brighton 2-1. With Lampard overseeing defeats in the first three games as interim manager and the team has also lost four of its past five games.

Conor Gallagher had given the Blues the lead, but Danny Welbeck’s goal for Brighton levelled the score. The Seagulls’ dominance was rewarded when the substitute Julio Enciso scored from long range, which was enough to give the visitors three points.

Frank Lampard’s appointment as temporary manager by Todd Boehly until they find the perfect manager for the upcoming season appears to be another poor decision, and it is undoubtedly failing.

Players appear bewildered during games and are unable to hold onto the ball for a sustained period of time; as a result, they lose control quickly, giving their opponents opportunities to build the game. It appears that Lampard is unsure of where he may make improvements.
