Chelsea to make all out effort to land in-demand English international next summer

Chelsea will do everything to sign Jude Bellingham in the coming summer

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have not given up on the idea of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the coming summer despite heavy spending in the last two transfer windows.

Chelsea spent close to £600m on transfers in the past six months, including breaking a British transfer record to sign Enzo Fernandez from Benfica on the deadline day of the January window.

But, that won’t put the Blues off from trying to convince Bellingham to join them in the summer. While there is a suggestion that the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid are ahead in the race, Chelsea owners will do everything in their power to sign the England international.

The 19-year-old is one of the best midfielders in the world whose game has come leaps and bounds in the last 12-18 months. His performances for England in the World Cup were further proof of how good he is as a player. He and Declan Rice form a combative yet qualitative midfield partnership for the Three Lions.

Although it is encouraging to see Chelsea willing to do their best to sign him, things won’t be easy if they fail to qualify for Champions League football next season. The midfielder is valued at around £100m at the moment.

In terms of the profile we need, Bellingham does sit well on the criteria. After signing a midfield conductor in Fernandez, we could do with a box-to-box midfielder who has a goal in him and has high quality on or off the ball.
