Chelsea manager Graham Potter weighs in on signing of Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven

Graham Potter has praised Chelsea’s most recent acquisition of Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven and hopes that his talents will help the team’s attacking formation.

In an effort to strengthen their offensive line, Chelsea signed another young player for €35million from the Dutch club. The club needs players with a knack for scoring goals and creating chances considering they have only scored two goals in their last five games.

Madueke was the club’s sixth signing in the January transfer window following the arrivals of Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, Benoit Badiashile, Andrey Santos, and David Datro Fofana.

Chelsea have signed Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven.

Speaking in an interview (h/t Football. London) following a very drab attacking performance from Chelsea in a 0-0 draw against Liverpool, Potter said we are very excited to have the player onboard, as he said.

“Now I can speak about him because he’s a Chelsea player. He’s an exciting player and brings a left-footed attacking option for us and competition in that area of the pitch.”

The 20-year-old has been added to the list of youngsters as the club is attempting to build a competitive team, and Madueke is just 20 and will have a lot to earn at Chelsea. with senior players aiding the player to become a promising player.

With only nine appearances and two goals for the Dutch club this season, Madueke may have been overlooked due to injury and Cody Gakpo’s attention-grabbing displays for PSV.

Noni Madueke could make his debut in the next match.

Madueke, who could be playing in Hakim Ziyech’s position, will have a different impact as both players have different styles of play. The Moroccan prefers to play defence-splitting passes or delivers a cross, while Madueke prefers to out-dribble and outpace his opponents.

Although he may not be getting much playing time, the 20-year-old will be prepared to make a statement debut and as he will one of the top leagues of Europe. Potter has shown with Joao Felix and Mudryk that he isn’t afraid to put his new signings in the firing line straightaway.

More Chelsea News:

Hopefully, that means we get a taste of the former Tottenham Hotspur forward soon – perhaps when we face Fulham on 3 January in the Premier League. It’s another big investment in a very young player. At this point, this approach almost feels haphazard but hopefully, a few years down the line, we recall this window as one which helped the club in a huge way.
