Chelsea target Cristiano Ronaldo set for Al-Nassr medical

According to the Mirror, Chelsea target Cristiano Ronaldo who is currently a free agent has a medical scheduled ahead of a potential move to Saudi Arabia club, Al-Nassr.

The former Manchester United forward left the club after the termination of his contract with the English club. He has since then been a free agent and looking to decide on his next big move.

Chelsea are expected to hold an interest in the Portuguese legend. The 37-year-old was on the Blues’ radar even in the summer but a move never materialised for the talented striker.

This season has been horrendous for Ronaldo to say the least with the player really struggling at Man United. He ultimately fell out with Erik ten Hag which led to his eventual departure from the club.

The World Cup was expected to be the stage where Ronaldo silenced his critics and reminded everyone of his capabilities. A good tournament would have gone a long way in securing him a deal to a top club.

However, Ronaldo was unceremoniously dropped to the bench for the last couple of matches after a string of poor performances which has led to doubts over his ability to play at the top level any longer.

Chelsea’s interest in him seems to have dwindled down quite a bit and this has left the 37-year-old superstar scraping to find a club where he can play football next and Al-Nassr have emerged as the most likely option.

It has now emerged that the Saudi club have scheduled a medical for the talented striker. This is the clearest indication we have yet that this deal might be close to happening but it remains to be seen.

As for Chelsea, it makes sense for them not to sign a player who would be stop-gap at very best. Especially based on current form, it doesn’t make sense to go for a player who we would be signed more out of optimism than recent experiences.
