According to CalcioMercatoweb (h/t Football. London), Manchester City eye a shock swap deal for Chelsea target Rafael Leao and are willing to give Jack Grealish in exchange for him.
The Blues have been linked with a move for Leao for quite some time now. The Portuguese winger has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but news of City’s interest is definitely not good.
Leao is one of the most talented wingers going around right now and his performances for AC Milan have really caught the eye. The 23-year-old has also shown his quality for Portugal.
Leao along with Theo Hernandez run riot down the left side of AC Milan with the duo combining to devastating effects. Oppositions often struggle to contain the duo when they are in the mood.
The Portuguese forward is not the typical winger that one expects. He is tall, physical and uses his strength and body movements to get past players, unlike the traditional winger who loves to dribble.
He would be a player that is unlike anyone that Chelsea have got right now and has all the talent to define the Premier League for a decade to come. He would be a great signing for the Blues.
However, the fact that Man City want him is definitely not good news for Chelsea. The Pep Guardiola-led team have a pulling power when it comes to players and this could sway Leao towards them.
It seems unlikely and it is not typical of the Premier League Champions though to sell a player they signed for a huge investment and them offering Grealish in exchange for Leao does not seem believable.
Chelsea must act fast and try to sign Leao as soon as they can. He will undoubtedly be a great acquisition for the team and we must pull this off before Man City can beat us to it. Let’s see how it goes.
