Chelsea play will host the Croatian side for their final group-stage game in the Champions League, having already qualified for the Round of 16. But it looks like Graham Potter could be without a host of players for that clash.
Kovacic has been nursing a knee injury this season. This has forced Potter to select him in only a few games. The Croatian has played in 14 games this season in all competitions, starting in nine of them.
Edouard Mendy could start his first game under Potter tomorrow. The Senegal international was recovering from an injury during which Kepa unseated him as the number one between the sticks.
However, the Spaniard was forced off due to a foot injury at half-time during the Blues’ embarrassing 4-1 loss against Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend. Mendy was bought in his place and will likely start the game this mid-week.
Koulibaly has not featured since the goalless draw against Brentford last month. The summer signing is yet to make a mark for the Blues and could likely start the game against Zagreb on the bench.
It remains to be seen what team Potter selects for the game tomorrow. While a rotational squad is likely, the manager will likely face an uphill task when his side host league leaders Arsenal this Sunday. Fans will hope for victories in both games.
