Transfer News: Tiemoue Bakayoko could leave AC Milan at the end of his loan spell

According to popular Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via Football.London, Chelsea loanee Tiemoue Bakayoko could leave AC Milan this summer at the end of his current loan spell.

The French midfielder has been out on loan at the Serie A club from Chelsea at the start of the season and has had a miserable time at San Siro. The 27-year-old has failed to find stability playing for a variety of clubs throughout his career.

The former Napoli midfielder has played 18 times for AC Milan this season but has failed to score or assist any goals across all competitions. Nevertheless, his defensive game has always been his selling point.

It is very unlikely that the Italian club will look to make the move permanent and Bakayoko might find himself back at Stamford Bridge again next season. The former AS Monaco man could look to start a new career under Thomas Tuchel, but that also seems unlikely given how long he has been away from regular first-team action at Chelsea.

A faltering career?

It is fair to say several loan moves later, Bakayoko’s move from Monaco to Chelsea has not panned out as it was expected.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, the player is also capable of playing further forward on the pitch. Once he returns to Chelsea, the club will be wise to look to move him on as the player almost definitely doesn’t have a future at the club.

A capped France international, there is no doubt that Bakayoko has the potential to become a key player for certain teams. He has the ability to succeed and with the right backing, the 27-year-old still has a chance to resurrect his career.

Tiemoue Bakayoko has the potential to succeed in the future. It may not be at AC Milan and it most definitely is not at Chelsea. However, a fresh start would be able to help the player to realise his true potential.

At 27, he doesn’t have all the time on his hands if he wants to force his way back into Les Bleus’ team.
