“Only one position” – Prospective owner makes clear Thomas Tuchel admission

Sir Martin Broughton has confirmed that Thomas Tuchel will remain the head coach if his consortium takes over Chelsea

Speaking to talkSport as quoted by Metro, Sir Martin Broughton has revealed that Thomas Tuchel will stay on as the head coach of Chelsea if his consortium wins the bid to buy the London based club.

The future of the Blues boss has been a much-discussed topic ever since Roman Abramovich announced his intention to sell the club. Whilst Tuchel has repeatedly reiterated his desire and commitment to Stamford Bridge, there is a fear that the new owners could want to bring in a manager of their choice.

The deadline for prospective buyers to submit their bids for the London based club was yesterday and Sir Martin Broughton who is leading a consortium alongside Lord Sebastian Coe is one of the suitors who have submitted their bid for the London giants.

When asked if the former Liverpool chairman was looking to keep or release Tuchel if he becomes the owner of the club, Broughton has vowed that Tuchel will stay at Stamford Bridge and that there are no second thoughts about it.

“There’s only one position we’ll be taking. We want him to stay”

Relief for the Blues?

If Broughton is indeed set to become the Chelsea owner, the Blues fans would be relieved by the fact that they will not lose Thomas Tuchel.

The German manager took over at Stamford Bridge midway through the 2020-21 season and quickly transformed the team, leading them to the Champions League and the Club World Cup titles within 12 months.

Tuchel has managed to get the best out of many of the players at Stamford Bridge and has revived the career of players such as Antonio Rudiger. Add to it his stupendous conduct during the past few days, it is clear that Chelsea will struggle to find a better alternative to the German.
