Chelsea suffer a massive blow in the pursuit of 24-year-old Serie A star

Chelsea suffer a massive blow in the pursuit of AC Milan star Theo Hernandez

According to the Daily Express, Chelsea are unlikely to get their hands on Theo Hernandez due to his statute at AC Milan.

Theo Hernandez’s talents are no secret at the Serie A. the Rossoneri secured the French star’s services in 2019 and has been enjoying the fruit of his labours. With four goals and five assists in 22 appearances, the 24-year-old didn’t disappoint in this campaign either.

This might be the reason why Stefano Pioli’s team has been reluctant to give away Theo. It is believed that Milan are currently in ‘advanced talks’ with the French international about a renewal deal and are confident of keeping the player beyond the end of his current term.

It is also believed that the Italian team wouldn’t even consider any offer below £50million for the left wing-back.

Milan’s approach regarding Theo is not advantageous for Chelsea, who have targeted the French star recently.

Chelsea’s first-choice left-back Ben Chilwell has been ruled out from the remainder of the season due to a recent surgery. The English men’s loss has provided a massive blow to Thomas Tuchel’s intentions as Marcos Alonso is the only recognized wing-back option available for the German manager.

Chelsea desperately needs a left-back reinforcement in the January transfer window and has been linked with a handful of players. However, the solution hasn’t arrived.
