According to transfer news from Birmingham Live, Wolves are expecting Chelsea to make a move for Adama Traore. The Blues are said to be interested in the Spaniard as Thomas Tuchel wants a wide player on the right. Barcelona and Leeds are also said to be interested in the winger.
The 25-year-old Spaniard is a quick and strong winger who can leave the best of defenders lying in his wake. He has made a name for himself in the Premier League at the Molineux after failed stints at previous clubs such as Middlesbrough. He is a speed demon and that attribute of his needs no introduction.
It’s not an uncommon sight to see the pace merchant bullishly running down the right flank for Wolves and whip in a cross or go for goal. Last season may not have been his best in terms of goals and assists but rest assured the quality is still there.
Traore was a part of the Spain side in the Euros that exited in the semi-final stage. However, a small cameo against Slovakia was all that Traore could manage. Spain’s exit means that Traore’s future could soon be sorted. He has so far refused a new deal from Wolves.
Chelsea have shown an eagerness to get him as they are after a player who can play at wing-back. However, they are not the only sides interested, with Barcelona and Leeds United also in the race. The Blues are hoping to get a deal done for around £25million but it is likely to cost them more in the region of £40million.
Traore can be a decent fit for the 3-4-2-1 setup that Tuchel likes to use. His attacking nature would aid the attack from the right and perhaps help with some goals. He does have a tendency to be inconsistent, which will need ironing out. However, he is someone Chelsea can look at.
